Dow Ludington Introduces Annual Community Report

New Initiative to Enhance Resident Outreach and Dialogue

MIDLAND, Mich. - July 25, 2008

The Dow Chemical Company (“Dow”) Ludington Operations will introduce a new initiative to enhance its existing community outreach and dialogue efforts. Dow has committed to publish and distribute a report, each year, that will provide local residents with insight into the Company's safety and environmental performance and economic contributions. In addition, the report will provide a means to ask questions and provide comments to Dow via a postage-paid return mail card.

“As a large employer and economic contributor, Dow's presence in Ludington and the surrounding area is significant. Our performance includes not only our financial results and investments for growth of our operations, but also our participation in the local community,” said Bill Berrett, General Manager, Dow Ludington Operations.

Berrett continues, “Our colleagues, our families and our friends work and play here, making strong relationships with local residents a high priority for us. Therefore, we've made Contributing to Community Success an integral component of our performance objectives. We've created this annual report to share our progress.”

The first edition of the Community Report recaps 2007 results and offers numerous examples of projects at the Dow Ludington site that reflect the Company's dedication to safety, the environment and local philanthropy.

“This report is only a snapshot of the numerous efforts of our employee volunteers and the wealth of talents that reside in our workforce. I want to thank everyone at this site for making our community a better place. It is only through the contributions of Dow people that our performance is achievable,” said Berrett.

The report will be available to the community through local newspapers, libraries and Chamber of Commerce beginning August 1, 2008.
