750 Retirees Attend First Dow Louisiana Retiree Reunion

Plaquemine, LA - March 19, 2008

Employees registering at the Dow Retiree Reunion

About 750 retirees and spouses attended the first Dow Louisiana Operations Retiree Reunion held recently at the West Baton Rouge Parish Museum. The retirees spent the day reminiscing about their time spent at the Dow site in Plaquemine...which covered the decades from the late 1950's through the 1990's.

Along with the "catching-up" time, the retirees also had the opportunity to visit booths that were set up with information about retiree financial planning, the Dow Retiree Club, Habitat for Humanity, Employee's Political Action Committee, Dow Westside YMCA and health information. Dow Health Services also conducted a Yogalates class and gave free massages for the retirees.

A luncheon was also held for the retirees and Dow Louisiana Operations Site Director Sharon Cole welcomed and updated them on some of the current site happenings. The retirees were also entertained by storytelling and the bluegrass music of the Fabulous Bagasse Boyz.

Dow retiree O.J. Dupuy remarked, “It was a wonderful time to get together and visit with old friends who helped to build the Louisiana Operations site from the ground up.”
